Cordyline

Yes yes yes! Why am I so happy about my cordyline!

Well let me run though it! My father in law had a beautiful cordyline growing in the from garden! A great structural plant! He planted it 10 years ago and has coped well over the winter periods! Apart from the winter gone when we had that dramatic deep freeze. He had not covered it with a fleece to protect it from the winters over the years and got caught out! It died!!! :(

Most cordylines I have seen in front of hotels and homes that are rather big about the hight of a house which takes about 20-25 years to grow have seen the same damage!

It is rather a heart breaking that such a beautiful plant had died! Plus how long they have taken to grow.

We moved in the house at the start of March! I didn't notice the at first until a big wind knocked all the pines off! So I trimmed them all back and left the green pines behind hoping it would survive! Well it didn't! Thanks to Gardeners world they said that if you cut the tree right to the ground then it will grow back.

Well I cut ours to the ground today because I noticed that our has 2 new trees growing from it! Normally there are 3 so I'm hoping for the 3 one soon!

Im rather happy now :)

I love how much attention, detail and care you put into your plants.

It inspires me to wanna grow things too. Though it's hard that I am living in a rather confined apartment. I might just start with a potted one.

Nothing extravagant as yours I reckon, a simple plant life should be enough to keep me company.

I think a small potted one should be good enough for me.
