Lilly of the valley

                                        Lilly of the valley

This plant is springing up all over the flower bed even over into the grass area. Very fragile species so be careful when turning your soils. Recommend turning your soil after bloom and careful not to dig up the bulbs! If you do just simply plant them back or some where else.

They bloom white tiny bells between May to July and if you want to sow your own seeds for these then sow them between February - April.

Lilly of the valleys have many names like Ladder-to-heaven, Male Lilly, May bell, Lilly constancy's, Muguet and May lilies.

Also called the lady's tears according to christian legend that the flowers represent the tears of Eve when driven out of the garden of Eden with Adam!

Latin name - Convallaria majalis

These plants are perennials so you can enjoy them year after year!

I will add the photo of one in it's full glory soon. So you have to be patient :)
